CONSIL - Council of the European Union

Council of the European Union's Central Library is available
to all officials and other employees of the General Secretariat of the Council
and of the other institutions of the European Union and members of the permanent representations.
Access may be granted, under certain conditions, to external visitors.

Normal Daily Hours Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays also from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. August: Monday - Friday from 12 a.m. to 15 p.m. The library is closed on official Council holidays.

  • All other visitors: by appointment.

  • Database contains about 100.000 monographs and 26.000 article titles.
  • Reference works (dictionaries, encyclopaedias, yearbooks, etc.) and the latest editions of periodicals and newspapers from EU member states are available at the reading room.
  • Monograph loans for one month.
  • Online services: lists of selected articles and information dossiers on different aspects of the European Union policies, the legal issues and the activities of the institutions.
